Growing, No Way But Up

Saying goodbye to the girl I knew, to the girl I was. Sailing safe in her sweet dreams I truly hope she finds the world she believed possible for me and her. Staring at a beautiful sunset, I thought kindness went beyond the horizon, and love was as true as the sun will rise. I was small, I couldn't see the whole picture, I still can't, I still never will, but I can get a better view. So, for the small girl with sweet dreams, the mountains she couldn't move, I'll climb instead. I feel parts of my life I want to erase, but know I can't; parts of my story I may never tell, but accept; things I didn't have to learn the hard way that didn't make me stronger... and the light of the sun before it turns dark. But the sun will rise, I think that's the only truth I need. The rest is unknown, like what's beyond the horizon. If I could see that girl again and let her know I wouldn't be here without her, let her know I love her and hope she feels the same... But she's here, she's

Dragicorns

One day in the magical land of Ilonata, a herd of unicorns went out to search for a lost foal. It had wandered into the deepest parts of the forest the night before to play a game of hide and seek with the other little unicorn foals but forgot to return home once it got dark. Usually, unicorns were quite skilled at blending into their backgrounds, so they could disappear behind trees and rocks with surprising ease. Their glittering coats and shining manes didn't give them away when they crept into the shadows. But the seeking unicorn didn't notice the hiding foal's shining mane, and no one came to look for it when it disappeared, which was probably why it got lost. The unicorns went into the forest and searched. They searched by the river, among the ferns, and behind the rocks and trees. But no matter where they looked, there was no sign of the missing foal. But suddenly, they discovered a trail of little muddy hoofprints that looked like they must have been left behind by the foal.

Burying the Epee

So, I just received the body. The only things I knew beforehand were that the deceased was a prominent athlete and that his murderers were sending him to me. I don't know whether they murdered him due to his skills or other unknown reasons, but I don't need to know. However, judging by the stab wound and the third-degree burns, I'm willing to bet it was somewhat personal. Fortunately for them, so long as I get paid, I won't ask questions. And boy, did I get paid this time. Apparently, the people who commissioned me are extremely wealthy since they somehow managed to buy an Amazon truck look alike to deliver the body discreetly, as well as throw in a fat envelope of unmarked bills. And I'm not going to lie, I was slightly impressed. Not only from the fake Amazon truck but how much they gave me. I have enough to pay off the rent, for the materials for this burial, and a bit

the bride

THE BRIDE The church bells ring and the birds fly fast. She looks around the empty street...silence.. It made her tummy coil. Her butterflies banging around in her stomach. What was she doing here? What was she thinking? The orchestra begin their song. It's time. She pushes her fears away and plants a smile on her pink lips, takes a deep breath, then steps inside, beginning her walk  down the aisle. Her butterflies fly away one by one as she looks up at the man waiting for her at the front. And her smile turns real, as her large mossy green yes meet the man's deep, loving brown one's. She looks back to the floor, taking each step slowly a

ME

i. I fell in love with a girl who catalogued darkness, sat in her room with the blinds closed and wrote down 187 ways it felt in all of the different times she couldn't see. My name was one of them, #143, ash velvet, and I didn't know what she meant at the time but the only description she wrote beneath it was good night for stuffed animals bad night for worn pillows. And I'm sorry I made you dream of the rivers. ii. I fell in love with a girl who never looked in the mirror but dressed to perfection, somehow in her blue skirt and black socks white tennis shoes and a smile crooked as the bottom side of Indiana – yeah, I

Fore the Abyss

Impossible to thee, but not to me, This seems. Impossible to be But not to seek, I deem. Thou are like blooms that would not die, nor fade Nor change from green to dyes untried and new Nor droop at night to catch the morning sun; Thou are unchanging in the light of day. But I cannot but be amazed, To see the new-bloomed blues And see the hoary browns unfold When vibrant hues diffuse. Thou are like bees, that would forever toil Uncaring towards some goal; unknown, untold, Immortal but remote, immutable-- And buzzing to and fro, would never grow. But I would take their twisting paths And wind them in a route Straight through th
